A recent high profile approval of a new AstraZeneca R&D centre in Cambridge encouraged our client to communicate the scientific excellence still originating from their North West site in Macclesfield.

The purpose of the research excellence brochure is two-fold: it serves as a recruitment tool to attract scientists to the North West site; at the same time it helps raise awareness that while the latest research and development will originate in Cambridge, they become a tangible reality at the facilities in the North West. At the Macclesfield site large volumes of medicines are manufactured, packaged and distributed worldwide in a cost-effective way.

Our client asked us to design more than just a standard printed piece, so we took this research excellence brochure to the next level with an attractive look and feel that reminds readers of a scientific magazine that they might want to leaf through and keep. With our client’s strict brand guidelines always in mind, the editorial style photography mixes scientific imagery with North West lifestyle shots. The clean, contemporary design and aspirational stories turn the brochure into tool that showcases the region as a centre of scientific endeavour – one with a strong history of innovation and an exciting future ahead.

The final piece was extremely well-received by our client and the target audience, helping cement AstraZeneca’s reputation in the North West as an exciting and forward-looking operation that plays a vital role in company’s on-going efforts.
